COVID VACCINATION INFORMATION

Vaccine Proof

From 17 May 2021, people in England who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can demonstrate their vaccination status for international travel. A full course is currently two doses of any approved vaccine. Vaccine status will be available from:

• the NHS App which you can download from app stores
• the NHS website (from 17 May 2021)

It may take more than a week for your identity to be checked and verified so you can use these services.
If you cannot access these online services, and you have had 2 vaccines, you can request a paper letter from the NHS by calling 119. Only call 119 if you had your second dose more than 5 working days ago. It may take 7 working days for the letter to arrive.

This practice is not able to provide you with a letter that shows your COVID-19 vaccination status.
When you're planning your travel, check the latest information on demonstrating your COVID-19 status when travelling abroad on the gov.uk website. Make sure there is time to get proof of your vaccination status before you leave.

Booking a Covid Vaccine

Covid-19 vaccines are available, the NHS offers vaccination services in Lancashire.

People who are eligible for a NHS Covid-19 Vaccination  can contact the Booking Service on 119

OUR SERVICE TO PATIENTS

 The threat of infection from Covid-19 still exists within our communities, we must all
continue to follow the guidance, adhere to any restrictions in place and take the
necessary precautions such as wearing face coverings and practicing good hygiene.

 GP practices have been providing GP services throughout the covid-19 pandemic
and have learned that they can conduct consultations very well with some patients using digital technology.

 GP practices are open and continue to provide services as they have done
throughout the pandemic. We are open and providing GP services.

 GP practice buildings are public buildings and as such must be kept covid-secure.
We will already have a process in place for managing entry into the
premises to help minimise the risk of anybody spreading the virus. Please continue to
follow this.

 New ways of providing GP services have been introduced in order to maintain
access to your GP practice team whilst protecting you, others and staff.

 Triage (making an assessment of your condition and prioritising care accordingly) is
an important part of how GP practices work. This has always been in place but has
been vitally important during the pandemic.

 The majority of common conditions can be assessed and diagnosed by your doctor
by telephone or video consultation. They are experienced and skilled in doing this.
Using technology like this will help to protect you, your family and loved ones - and
GP practice staff from the potential risk of the virus.

 These new ways of working provide mutual benefits to patients and your GP practice
which is why before the pandemic we had a plan to start introducing these more
frequently.

 However, because of necessity the pandemic sped up this process and more people
started to use video consultations or apps to book appointments and order
prescriptions for example.

 The use of these digital technologies has been shown to improve patient experiences
thanks to the convenience and increased access that they provide.

 We want to make sure that these new ways of working and the benefits they bring
are not lost.

 Covid-19 has changed many aspects of our daily lives, with lots of positive changes.
These new ways of accessing your GP and receiving care or treatment are just one

Frequently asked questions

Is my GP practice open?

Yes, your GP practice is open.
You can access GP services from your GP practice. Some of the ‘traditional’ ways of
working have been adapted to protect you and staff from the potential risk of coronavirus.
For example, how you access your GP practice building or how your appointment is
undertaken might be different.

I would like a face-to-face appointment, when can I get this?

You can request a face to face appointment when booking at appointment either online or over the telephone.

How can my condition be properly diagnosed via telephone or video?

Lots of common conditions can be diagnosed using mobile devices, telephone or video
thanks to the experience of your GPs and their ability to recognise the signs and symptoms
of conditions from the information you provide. However, if they judge that it is safer and
more appropriate to organise a face-to-face appointment for you then this will be arranged.

What if I can’t or don’t want to use video technology for an appointment?

A face to face appointment can be booked with the GP.

Can I still access other services from my surgery, such as nurse appointments for
example?

Appointments with the nurse can be booked by contacting the surgery.

Lloyd George Digitisation Medical Records

Lancashire and South Cumbria has been chosen by NHS England to be a national pilot for the digitisation of Medical Records. Scanning these paper based records and making them digital will enable better utilisation of space, creating more clinical space, staff areas, multi team space and video hubs, removing the need for some practices to build extensions. In addition it will also make your record more easily and speedily accessible to clinical staff within your practice.

Your complete GP medical record will be digital and stored in a secure cloud based clinical system (only accessible by your GP practice) with the paper based records being securely destroyed following BS EN 15713:2009 Secure destruction of confidential material. Your GP will still be able to access your records easily within this system. The scanning and destruction of the paper records will follow strict data protection guidelines adhered to by the NHS. As with paper based records, digital records are stored for the durations specified in the Records Management Codes of Practice for Health and Social Care. For GP patient records, this states that they may be destroyed 10 years after the patient’s death if they are no longer needed.
If you wish to discuss the scheme, please inform the Practice direct either by letter or via e-mail bdccg.pringlestreet@nhs.net
